Браво Монтойя!

Не зря я за Пабло болел, ещё с ф-3000 1998, он тогда с Хайфельдом, которого считали будущей мега-звездой, за чемпионат боролся. И даже когда Хайдфельд про*бал чемпионат Монтойе всё равно все говорили, что Хайдфельд будущая звезда, а я был другого мнения. И вот Монтойя уже давным-давно вписал своё имя золотыми буквами в историю автоспорта, а Хайдфельд где-то в болоте бултыхается

Я их не сравниваю. Просто для справки привел! Хотя можно поспорить,насколько спринт-кары подходящая школа для НАСКАРа

Поспорь, внимательно выслушаю. У Стюарта титул USAC Silver Crown, IRL не дотягивал до его уровня, так что успех Стюарта в NASCAR закономерен. Я не люблю Тони, но надо отдать должное - он один из лучших гонщиков своего поколения. Если говорить прямо, рядом только Гордон.

Поздравляю, но надо учесть, что команда #01 одна из лучших если не лучшая в GrandAm, так что Монтойе главное было не запороть свою часть дистанции

Насчёт перспектив в НАСКАР: не о каком чейзе тем более о Кубке речи быть не может. Этот спорт для американцев - у них другая школа, другая гоночная философия (сравнение со Стюартом некорректно) - всё другое. Монтойю же всё жизнь "готовили" к Ф1 со всеми вытекающими обстоятельствами и это противоречие невозможно преодолеть. Есть ещё несколько "но". Думаю вы их знаете, так что будьте реалистами. Даже если предположить, что ХПМ будет побеждать и бороться за Кубок, то это перевернёт Мир НАСКАРа. Его и так последнее время перетряхивают как могут, а это он может и непережить. НАСКАР - это традиции. Нарушение традиций - конец НАСКАРа. Мы уже потеряли великий КАРТ и я не хочу, чтобы НАСКАР повторил его судьбу. Незабывайте, что обозначает первая буква в его аббревиатуре
Я почти уверен, что Хуан устроит аварию и не увидит клетчатого флага в Пятисотке. В грядущим сезоне он порадует нас красивыми вреками.
Не думаю, что он долго продержится в НАСКАР: годик-второй и либо вернётся в Ф1, либо в ИндиКар (я за второй вариант)

он часть стратегии Чипа.

без вреков не обойдется, но они не будут его отличительной чертой, я думаю.

Да, про то, что ХПМ - не американский пилот - просто смешно. Достаточно посмотреть, где он выступал за свою карьеру и где живет последние лет 10, где его семья

Осядет... звучит многозначительно.
Конечно это другая истоиия, но приход Минасяна и Жункейры тоже было частью стратегии Чипа.

ну это да, не спорю.
но талантлив и на кузовах эпизодчески гонял. Равно как и на овалах. Так что полностью Моню со счетов я бы не советовал списывать

Today's overall victory in the Rolex 24 At Daytona for Chip Ganassi Racing is the first back-to-back win for the same team owner since Al Holbert's team won consecutive races in 1986 and 1987.

JUAN PABLO MONTOYA becomes the first driver to win a 24-hour race at Daytona, a Formula 1 Grand Prix, an Indianapolis 500 and an IndyCar or Champ Car World Series championship. Mario Andretti won a six-hour endurance race at Daytona in addition to victories in Formula 1, the Indy 500 and open-wheel championships. Montoya wins the Rolex 24 in his first try, and also won the Indianapolis 500 in his first race in 2000 and the Champ Car title as a rookie in 1999.

SCOTT PRUETT earned his seventh Rolex 24 At Daytona class victory, moving him into sole possession of first place on the all-time Rolex 24 class winners list. He was previously tied with Hurley Haywood and Peter Gregg with six class wins apiece. It was Pruett's second overall Rolex 24 victory and his first since 1994, and was his 13th career Rolex Series overall victory, tying him for first place with James Weaver for most overall wins in Rolex Series history.

SALVADOR DURAN picked up his first Rolex 24 At Daytona in his first Rolex Series appearance.

The No. 7 SAMAX Pontiac Riley co-driven by Tomas Enge, Chris Festa, Christian Montanari, Roger Yasukawa and Kris Szekeres won the SunTrust Improve Your Position Award for finishing sixth after starting 28th, an improvement of 22 positions. The No. 67 TRG Porsche GT3 of Tom Cloet, Pierre Borque, Mike Solley and Auston Harris claimed GT-class honors in the SunTrust Improve Your Position Award by improving from 34th in class at the start to sixth at the finish, an improvement of 22 spots.
