NEWS - Congrats to #16 Greg Biffle & Nicole Lunders, who tied the knot WED in S.Carolina.
- Steve Hmiel said it was a difference in philosophy led to his departure from DE,I.
*
WHO TO WATCH - #48 and #24 finished 1-2 here in the spring and have put up astonishing numbers here. #48 won 2 straight @ Martinsville, while in his career, #24 has completed 11,994 of a possible 12,000 laps here, which is simply amazing. #24 has 7 wins here to #48`s 3 and the two (drivers) will be looking to really pull away from the field today.
*
KEYS TO THE RACE - Patience, patience, patience.
Drivers need to save their brakes and keep their cool, because passing is so difficult here. That, of course, puts a huge premium on track position as well.
*
WELCOME, RACE FANS - It`s a beautiful day in Martinsville, Va., site of the Subway 500, race # 32of36 on the NNCup season and the 6of10 races in the Chase for the NCup. #24 starts from the pole ahead of #1 and #29. #24 leads the points by 68 over his HMS teammate #48, who starts 4th today.
The rest of the Top-10 startes today are ## 9-5-8-18-26-96. #07 who is 3rd in points, starts 21st, why 4-place points man #20 is all the way back in 34th.
*
ENGINES FIRED - Have a great day, everyone! This will be a long, gruelling race, with lots of wrecks, lots of cautions, and, FRANKLY, little passing, if yesterday`s truck race is any indication.
Look for calamity on pit road, too. Last year at this race, #31 came in with the points lead, but blew his motor and finished 42nd, opening the way for #48 to win the race and his 1st championship.
