FANS DESERVE MONEY BACK
Remember a few years ago when Formula One had a tire fiasco at Indianapolis Motor Speedway that resulted with, what, a couple F1 cars, a dirt bike and a Silver Crown car racing on Sunday?
What a joke, many of us in the NASCAR world said. The fans deserve refunds, we said from our high and mighty position. That would NEVER happen over here, we snickered under our breath.
Sunday’s “race” at the Brickyard was perhaps a bigger fiasco than the F1 event there a few years ago. The only thing that would have made it worse would have been – well, wait, nothing would have made it worse.
Michael Schumacher won the race – the F1 version – but many called it a “hollow” victory. Jimmie Johnson won Sunday, and while it is unfair to Johnson and his Hendrick Motorsports team to call it another hollow victory, tough. It was.
The 250,000 people who were in the stands deserve better. A refund, for starters. And NASCAR and Goodyear should pay for it. - scenedaily.com
