[HIDE=30] TEAM OWNERS: THE DRIVER'S MEETING IS ONLY SENT OUT TO TEAM MANAGERS. PLEASE FORWARD THIS ON TO ALL OF YOUR DRIVERS AND BE SURE THEY READ THIS.
DO NOT log into the race server as an individual driver on race day. The only driver for each team who should be on the server before the race, is the driver who will qualify the car. We only have so many slots on the server and you may also take up a teams car number. We DO NOT want to keep resetting the server because people are not paying attention to what they're doing. Practice only with your teams name and number or you will be ejected immediately.

Safety
I would expect that everyone has a good amount of sim-racing online with others. I would hope that you will all try to represent your league, your team, and yourself by being on your best behavior during the race. We will be starting the race Single File Staggered to assist in eliminating the first lap incidents. You MUST start with a minimum of a .5 - 1 second gap to the driver in front of you .. If a driver is too close at the start, or causing problems, we may consider restarting the race and making that driver start in the pits. No pass in the first few hours is going to win the race for you. Give your fellow competitors as much room as you can and always use your head before going for that pass. Don't rush yourself; this is not a sprint race, as a bad pass could ruin your race, your teammates, and very possibly another team's race. Be smart, and make it to the end of the race.
Race Control
If you have black flag problems, have problems with an erratic driver, or need to ask an official a question, Race Control will be logged in with numbers ranging from 090-098. You will see them as Race Control. Do not take care of a problem on your own. Either use Teamspeak to have a teammate talk to Race Control or at the next pit stop, use the private message feature in GTP to send a message to one of the officials by going to the chat screen and whispering to that official. DO NOT SEND MESSAGE IN OPEN CHAT OR YOUR TEAM COULD GET BLACK FLAGGED.
Sportsmanship
Be a good sport. Let Race Control do their job! Lack of good sportsmanship will put your whole team at risk of a black flag, or if serious enough, your team will be ejected and may have your permit or license revoked.
Class differences
The Lights cars in the hands of someone who knows it well can run as fast as some of the GTP cars. GTP teams are much faster than the GTP Lights cars while accelerating. On the longer straights, you can be up to 20 mph faster then a GTP Lights car. Keep a close eye on your {F2} screen and plan to pass the Lights cars on the straights only. Do NOT expect the GTP Lights driver to know that you are coming. If you cannot pass him under acceleration, pull in behind and follow him to the next straight. Remember that your GTP car will NOT out-brake a GTP Lights car. Do not expect to complete a pass on a Lights car under braking. Patience will be key when driving a GTP car. Do not rush yourself past a Lights car, and do not rush the Lights driver to get out of your way. All GTP drivers will get held up at times, that is what makes multi-class racing so challenging.
GTP Lights teams will have slower acceleration compared to the GTP cars. On the longer straights, you can be up to 20 mph off the straight-line speed of a GTP car. It is well advised to keep a close eye on your {F2} screen. If a GTP car is within 2 seconds of you as you are approaching a long straight, it is best to give the preferred line to the faster GTP car while on the straight. This is best achieved by staying low as you exit the turn leading onto the straight while staying on full power. DO NOT change your exit speed or you will get punted off course. Also, be aware that GTP Lights cars will brake later than a GTP car. Do not set yourself up directly behind a GTP car as you approach a braking zone. Always keep yourself one car width to his left or right to be safe. Be considerate of the fact that a GTP car may have to brake for a turn that you do not have to. In almost all circumstances, GTP Lights cars will out-corner a GTP car. You could get held up behind a GTP car through longer sequences of turns. Prepare for it by either holding the position until after the sequence of turns or by giving a large gap between you and the GTP car.
Damaging your car If you spin off the track, stay off the track and use your F2 screen to find a good-sized gap before re-entering the track. If you re-enter the track in front of another car and cause a wreck you will be lucky if you don't get ejected from the server on the spot.
If you spin and your car stays on the track hammer your brakes and keep them to the floor. DO NOT MOVE YOUR CAR until all other cars have passed and you have a large enough gap to maneuver your car to face the right direction. You are now a chicane. Don't make yourself a moving chicane (much harder to avoid that kind).
If all else fails, use the Tow Truck option. Press ESC and select TOW from the menu (do not RETIRE). You will be towed to your pits without ruining anyone else's race. Yours may already be ruined, but don't ruin another team's chances by trying to drive your mangled car back to pit lane.
Chat
Autochat will be allowed during the race. It is optional and should ONLY be used for the following reasons:
a) To signal that you are entering or exiting the pits when you know there may be potential for a wreck. (e.g. like a car directly behind you, or when you are coming out of a blind or obstructed pit exit)
b) To apologize for an incident you may have caused. A short message of apology - such as 's' or 'I Apologize' is permissible.
If you want to talk with your teammates, use a separate voice communications program to do so. If you need to talk to an official, you may do so via whisper, but ONLY while in the pits. To use whisper, start your chat normally by pressing “t”, and start the chat with a slash “/”, the pound sign “#” and the official’s car number (Example: “/#091 Hi official” will display “Hi official” to only car number 091). Get used to not using your autochat.
Flaming
No flaming, obscene, or inappropriate language will be tolerated. We will not warn you, your team will be ejected from the event and may be expelled from future events.
Penalties
If your team is caught breaking any of the rules stated here, the Rules page on the website, or driving erratically, there are 3 very distinct steps that you can be assured will happen:
a) Verbal Warning: via a whisper from an official. You may continue racing without interruption.
b) Black Flag: You will receive a black-flag & get a “talking to” while you are in your pit stall. Expect it to be a long talking to in which you will not be allowed to leave your pit stall until the discussion is completed. (It may be wise to complete a driver change soon).
c) Ejection: If things don't get corrected, your team will be ejected from the server. No discussions, no warnings, just ejected.
